Perce, Elder

My name is Perce Mallard and in one way or another, I have been associated with this church since I was a teenager - and believe me, that was a long, long time ago.

Being a Christian has meant having a relationship with the Lord Jesus that gives me a purpose for living, provides direction when I'm struggling (that's most of the time) and helps me realise that I can trust Him to look after a future I don't know about. It also lets me move in areas where lots of other people with the same life problems can support me and in turn be supported by me; where we can 'love each other to life'. (rather than death)

It is a real privlege to serve God's by serving His people through my role on the Eldership.  One of my greatest desires is to see people become all that God created them to be.

Max, Elder

Max says his faith doesn’t come easy to him. “I live with the emotions of winning and losing internal tug-of-war battles.” He is 55, and is married to Maree. They have two adult daughters.

Max heads up a ministry called WIN (“Women in Need”), through which they minister to the sex workers along the Great Western Highway. “I feel humble that God has allowed me to be part of this,” says Max, “it has been such a blessing to me and the other team members.”

Max has been part of the church for over 40 years and has served as a Youth Leader and Deacon and has been part of the worship team for many years. He has been an Elder for the last two years.

Max says, “I’m looking forward to what else God has in store for me personally and the church as a whole.”

Troy, Elder

Troy was born in 1962 in Penrith and has been married to Donna since 1990.

Troy and Donna have four kids: Joshua, Brianna, Bethany & Brodie, who attend Nepean Christian School at Mulgoa.

They have been attending Churches of Christ Penrith for over twenty years.

Their family loves camping, fishing, footy (one St George, some Broncos, some Panthers, mostly Queensland in the State of Origin) and people.

Troy says, “Using our gift of servant hood particularly, we aim to do whatever God asks to help bring people closer to Him and to pass on the freedom, grace and blessing we have experienced through knowing Jesus as our Lord. We love belonging to this part of God’s church, where people matter and life can be “made better” together, amongst the challenges modern-day life throws at us all.”

Dave, Elder

Dave was born in the St George area in 1965 ( and still has a soft spot for the mighty Dragons!), and came to Penrith Church of Christ in 1990 when he married his beautiful wife Janelle. They have two great kids, Joshua and Sarah.

Dave's ministry involvment includes heading up the Young Families Ministry with Janelle, assisting in Children's Ministry, and is always up for a bit of Drama (the acting kind!).

Dave says, " To me, one of the most important things in being a Christian is striving to follow Jesus' example of 'walking the walk' to match the talk through practical Christian living. I'm grateful for the purpose Jesus has given my life in this crazy mixed up world, and in response to that I want to be totally open and available to whatever God has in store for me. I'm not there yet, but with God's help, I'm having a go!"
