Church of Christ | Penrith
Our Church
A short history
While we are currently located close to the working heart of Penrith, our congregation held its first service in a local hall on the 4th of April, 1948 as well as in the homes of the founding members.
Shortly after, on the 23rd of January 1949, services were moved to the CWA hall and the church was officially constituted. Also throughout 1949, a tent mission was held in High Street.
In 1955 the current property on Stafford Street was purchased and a portable hut was errected to serve as the church building.
On the 20th of April, 1963, a new church building was officially opened and served a blossoming congregation.
