Small Groups

The leadership of our church believe that our small groups can have great significance in the life of a Christian.  Their vision is to see all people within our church in a Connnect group. Simply put, our Connnect groups exist for people to find a support base for life’s journey as well as an opportunity for personal growth. We also want our groups to be a place where people can bring their friends along where they can find unconditional love and acceptance.

If you are looking for a group then simply contact the Church Office on 4721 3640 and we will put you in contact with a group leader.  There are groups to suit all ages and stages of life.

Pastoral Care

The aim of our Pastoral Care Ministry is to create a loving and caring environment where everyone experiences a sense of belonging.

Our vision is of a church family that accepts, cares, supports and encourages people through practical service.

We have several different ministries under our umbrella, all with this aim.

  •  Phone Ministry
The purpose of this ministry is to touch base with people who haven’t been to church for awhile, people who are sick and those who are lonely and just need someone to talk to.

  • Visitation Team
We have a team of people who visit people in our church and the community for a chat over a cuppa. We share their highs and lows. Sometime we laugh together and sometimes we cry, but it’s a tangible way to share God’s love with those who are hurting. It’s also a great way to get to know others and build friendships.

  • Casserole Ministry
If anyone is sick or unable to provide meals for their family, we are able to provide them with casseroles to see them through a difficult time. We do this for people in our church family and in the community.

  • Baby Bundles
These gift packages are given to families with a new baby to welcome them into the church family. It’s an opportunity for the church to pray for the baby and the family and for us to meet the new arrival!! The church family donates all the items in the packages.

  • Other areas
We also take communion to those who are unable to come to church because of serious illness or age. It is important to us that these special people feel that they are not forgotten just because they can’t meet with us on Sundays.

We also have people who are willing to do housework and provide transport for those who need it.

Worship

Perce Mallard is our Worship Coordinator.

Is it not an aim of those who follow our Lord Jesus Christ, to make their whole of life an offering of worship to our Creator? And so, my role is to help facilitate this very important goal through our church’s corporate worship.

Our Worship Team Statement of Purpose says ‘Helping people connect with God’, and in our church we find a key tool for enabling this is our music. Martin Luther once said, “My heart, which is so full to overflowing, has often been solaced and refreshed by music when sick and weary.... Music is a discipline, and a mistress of order and good manners, she makes the people milder and gentler, more moral and more reasonable.” Music is not our only avenue to achieving our goal but a vital one. Our style is contemporary, meaning much of our music and format choice is based on people who are at least young at heart, and we are blessed to have an excellent team of almost forty people involved. Musicians, singers, sound and video people who are all committed to do whatever it takes to help you see God through the sometimes pain, business, and disruptions that we call Life – and in seeing Him better, personally adore and worship the living Jesus.

1Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” Please feel free to come and join us with grateful hearts by declaring your knowing and daily experience of God’s love and acceptance of you!

Prayer

The church leadership & prayer ministry team strongly desire to develop a culture of prayer which encourages the people of our church to want to spend time with God and get to know Him for who He really is. Consequently we know we will see Spiritual growth within our lives and an increase in our desire and confidence to tell others about Him. Some of the ways we are doing this are through:

  • Intercessory prayer,

  • Praying with people after our Sunday services,

  • Prayer cards which can be filled in on Sundays or at any of our groups which meet during the week,

  • Groups meeting during the week specifically to pray for our church & others,

  • Monthly prayer slips being circulated in the church newsletter, and

  • Prayer and worship gatherings.

We have a “prayer chain”, where volunteers are contacted for emergency prayer or specific needs of individuals or on behalf of the church. Our church has a commitment to prayer as the cornerstone to our ever-growing relationship with God and the movement of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We know we have peace & purpose when we recognize God for who He is, desire to have His will over our lives and know that our prayers are not in vain.

Basically, our church believes prayer is central to our faith in Jesus Christ & His working in our lives. We would love to pray with you about any concerns or needs you may have.  You do not need to journey through life alone...we're a phone call away!
