Welfare

At Churches of Christ Penrith, we believe that knowing Jesus makes life worth living. Our desire is to share what we have found with our community.

Picking up the Pieces is the welfare arm of our church.  Affectionately known as PUP, it seeks to help the marginalised in our local community through a number of different avenues.

PUP TRAILER

Each Wednesday night, our PUP trailer is out and about in the community.

One week you can find the trailer at Torton Place, just a few blocks down from the church.  On the alternate week, the team can be found in the car park of the North Penrith Community Neighbourhood Centre, located in Illawong Avenue in Kingswood Park.

It's a bit like a church on wheels!

WOMEN IN NEED (WIN)

WIN has been reaching out to the sex workers in the Minchinbury area for almost 9 years.

In recent years, the team has extended their ministry to include the Canterbury area.

The WIN team is passionate about caring for the girls they meet and seeks to show their love and support by celebrating the girl's birthdays and giving token gifts on special occasions such as Easter and Christmas, always reminding them that God sees them, He knows them by name and He loves them.

WIN goes out on Thursday and Friday nights.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY  & CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCHEON

These two events are hosted by PUP annually for the local community.

It is an opportunity for those who are on their own to enjoy a Christmas celebration with all the trimmings, surrounded by people who care and want to offer a hand of friendship.

These events are at no cost to those who come and are really special times of connecting with those in the local area.

EMERGENCY FOOD RELIEF

PUP also offers emergency food relief to those in need.  This is a one-off offer of help for those who find themselves in difficult circumstances through no fault of their own.

If you would like to know more about PUP, please contact the Church Office on 47 213640.
